The Technical Committee for the Recycling of Plastic Packaging, or COTREP, is the result of the partnership of a group of players in the plastic packaging value chain.

COTREP, an Economic Interest Grouping (EIG) registered in Paris under number 921 924 023, whose registered office is located at Elipso at 13 rue La Fayette, 75009 Paris, is responsible for the processing of personal data implemented in the context of the operation of this website “COTREP.fr” (hereinafter “the Site”).

This policy informs you of how personal data about you may be collected and processed when you use the Site. It is subject to change at any time, in particular due to regulatory and legislative changes.

Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.

 

PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA

Description of the processing of your personal data

The processing carried out by COTREP members meets explicit, legitimate and specific purposes. Your data is collected for the periods specified in this Policy. However, it is specified that your data may be kept for longer periods when this is necessary to meet a legal obligation or for the defence of our interests in court. In this case, your data will be kept for the time necessary to comply with this legal obligation or until the expiry of the applicable limitation period.

Your personal data may be processed for the following purposes:

Use of your metadata (server logs and cookies) – We collect connection data, such as IP address, browser type and settings, date and time of connections in order to:

Detect, prevent or deal with fraudulent activities, abuse, security breaches or any technical problems encountered by our services (e.g. fraudulent intrusion into the information system);

To measure the number of visitors to the Site and to understand how the Site is used in order to ensure and improve its performance (audience measurement cookies).

This metadata is collected on the basis of the legitimate interest of COTREP members to ensure the security of the Site, to administer the Site and to improve it.

For security purposes, the complete metadata, including the User’s IP address, is kept in the connection logs for a period of 3 months.

For the purposes of measuring the website’s audience, the metadata is stored in an anonymised form and processed in an aggregated manner.

This data is only intended for the authorized personnel of COTREP members as well as for subcontracted service providers, in particular the Site’s technical service providers.

Contacting COTREPYou can contact us, in particular through a form provided for this purpose, to send us a request or a comment.

In order to be able to respond to questions, suggestions or complaints, we process information related to your request and your identification data. The data identified by an asterisk in the contact form is mandatory. If we do not provide these information, we will not be able to comply with your request.

This processing is based on our legitimate interest in responding to the various requests that may be made by you and helping you, as far as possible, to resolve any difficulties encountered. We are unable to respond to your request without this information.

The personal data communicated is intended only for authorised persons within the members of COTREP as well as for subcontractors, in particular the Site’s technical service providers.

The data processed for this purpose are kept for the time necessary to respond to requests, within a maximum period of 3 years.

Exercising your GDPR rights To be able to exercise your GDPR rights, you must provide your identification data and, if applicable, a copy of your identity document.

This data is necessary to identify you in order to allow you to exercise your rights.

This processing is based on the legal obligation of any personal data controller to respond to requests from data subjects for the exercise of their rights.

The personal data communicated is intended only for authorised persons within the members of COTREP as well as for its subcontractors, in particular the Site’s technical service providers.

This information is kept for the time necessary to respond to your requests.

Exercising your rights

In accordance with the regulations, you have, under certain conditions, a right of access, rectification, erasure, opposition and portability in relation to all of your data as well as the right to formulate specific and general directives concerning the retention, deletion and communication of your post-mortem data.

Where the processing is based on our legitimate interest, you may object to the processing of your personal data. Your data will no longer be processed by COTREP members unless there are compelling legitimate reasons that override the interests and rights and freedoms of the user, or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

Finally, where data processing is based on consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time.

In order to facilitate the exercise of your rights, the members of COTREP have chosen to entrust Citeo with the role of point of contact for the persons concerned by the processing carried out in the context of the Site.

Our commitments

COTREP members undertake to process the personal data, entrusted and/or collected, in compliance with the regulations, and in this regard, undertake to:

Collect and process personal data only in accordance with the purposes related to the purpose of the collection;

Collect and process data only for the time necessary for processing;

To preserve the security, integrity and confidentiality of the personal data collected and processed;

Take all necessary supervisory measures in the event of a transfer of personal data to a country outside the European Union;

Put in place all appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, taking into account the state of knowledge, the costs of implementation and the nature, scope, context and purposes of the processing as well as the risks, varying in likelihood and severity, to the rights and freedoms of natural persons,  in order to guarantee a level of security appropriate to the risk.

 

You are informed that, in accordance with the regulations in force, your data may be transmitted to the competent authorities upon request, and in particular to public bodies, court officers, ministerial officers, bodies responsible for debt collection, exclusively to meet legal obligations, as well as in the case of the search for the perpetrators of offences committed on the Internet.
