Technical Notice request

The Applicant makes the request to COTREP via Elipso (for packaging manufacturers), Eco-Emballages (for fillers) or Valorplast (for plastics producers, process holders and recyclers).

The following information should be provided:

• Description of product
• Target market
• Forecast quantities
• Any recycling studies already carried out

Study process resulting in a Technical Notice :

1. 1- An applicant asks COTREP for an opinion on the recyclability of a packaging product or component.
2. 2- COTREP analyses the relevance of the packaging with regards to its recyclability and possible disruptions.
3. 3- To do so, it refers to General Notices already published or carries out specific tests on the packaging under examination.
4. 4- If there is an improvement lever for the packaging, COTREP informs the filler of the change it recommends.
5. 5- When the product is marketed, COTREP publishes a Notice, including any changes made, on this website.
6. 6- Technical Notices are likely to evolve according to the French collection and sorting system and the European regeneration system.

Test procedures :

Procedures define the rules to follow to ensure equal treatment for every request.

These procedures have been validated by the entire packaging chain, including European reclaimers and recyclers.
